How we handle your data

This page explains what information Bold Mirage Lab collects when you send in a sample or write to Helen about a material composition or stability study, and what happens to it afterwards. The short version: an independent testing lab in Kita Ward, Nagoya doesn't need much beyond what's on the submission form, and nothing is ever sold or traded on.

Information we receive

The site itself stores no personal data. Email hello@bold-mirage-lab.com or use the contact form and we receive exactly what you send — your name, an address to reply to, and whatever you told us about the material or environmental sample you need looked at.

What we do with it

Your details go toward exactly one thing: getting your sample logged, tested, and the report back to you. We don't add a stability-study enquiry to a mailing list, and nobody selling lab equipment ever sees your name.

Cookies

bold-mirage-lab.com sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is a small flag remembering that you closed the cookie notice, so it doesn't reappear every time you check submission guidelines. Clear it any time through your browser settings and it simply resets.

Sharing

No third party receives your details from Bold Mirage Lab — not a partner lab, not for marketing, not in some anonymised bundle. The one exception is a lawful order from a Japanese authority that leaves the lab no choice.

Retention

An enquiry thread is kept only as long as it takes to get your sample logged and the report delivered, then it's deleted. Records Japanese law requires the lab to retain longer are kept for exactly that statutory period and no longer.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion, and objection to any use — all free to request, whether your sample was tested last week or two years ago. One message to hello@bold-mirage-lab.com is enough, and Helen handles it personally.

Protection

Submission emails and test records sit on access-controlled systems that nobody outside the lab — no partner facility, no outside contractor — can reach.

Sample chain of custody

Every sample that comes through the door at Bold Mirage Lab keeps a paper trail — who sent it, when it arrived, what tests were actually run — because a result without provenance isn't defensible. That record travels with the report and goes no further than you, unless you name someone else in writing to receive it too.

Where this is handled

Bold Mirage Lab operates out of Yanagihara, Kita Ward, Nagoya, and handles personal information under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). Test data leaves the lab only inside the report sent back to you — never into a third-party database.

Marketing

There's no mailing list built from sample submission data. A report goes to the address you gave for that specific submission, and nothing else follows from it unless you get back in touch with Helen yourself.

Analytics

bold-mirage-lab.com runs no third-party analytics or ad trackers. Basic server logs are kept briefly for security purposes and are never linked to a named sample or client.

Third-party laboratories

A handful of specialist tests go to a partner laboratory when the equipment needed isn't in-house at Kita Ward. Only the sample itself and the test request travel in that case, never your contact details — the partner lab reports results back to Helen, who reports them on to you.

Complaints

Unhappy with how your data's been handled? Raise it with Helen directly first. Where that genuinely doesn't resolve things, you're entitled to raise it with the relevant Japanese data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

This policy is reviewed whenever the way the lab actually collects or handles data changes, not on a fixed schedule. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page is the one that matters — any material change shows up there before it takes effect.

Overseas transfers

On the rare occasion a specialist test needs a partner laboratory located outside Japan, only the minimum data required for that one test travels with the sample — held to the same confidentiality standard Bold Mirage Lab expects of itself.

Questions

Questions about this policy, or about anything Bold Mirage Lab holds on you, go to hello@bold-mirage-lab.com — Helen reads it personally. This policy applies to bold-mirage-lab.com and nothing beyond it.
